Guest + Pool Bath

A compact poolside bath was reworked to improve function, storage and durability while keeping the character of the home in tact.

Before

Small bath with wood flooring, clawfoot tub, toilet and vanity

Clawfoot tub at entry, oversized fixtures, limited storage, and wood fooring poorly suited to poolside use.

Guest and pool bath with walk-in shower, custom vanity and tropical tile

After

Walk-in shower, custom vanity, linen storage, and durable tile finishes create a more efficient guest and pool bath.

  • A large clawfoot tub crowded the entry.

  • An oversized vanity and toilet compressed the far end of the 9' x 6' room.

  • There was no storage for towels or linens.

  • Water-damaged wood flooring was poorly suited to a bath servicing the pool area.

  • The layout and materials did not support the room’s function or durability needs.

What wasn't working

How we made more possible

  • Reorganized the layout around a walk-in shower at the far end.

  • Added built-in shelving for towels and linens.

  • Positioned a custom vanity and linen tower near the entry for efficient storage without overwhelming the narrow footprint.

  • Introduced tile flooring and durable finishes better suited to wet, high-traffic use.

  • Used tropical pattern and period-inspired details to keep the room connected to the character of the house.
